Kaloka Weekend

Friday night was make-up gimik for WTP08 Leg 1 cast. We missed one gimik night in Bora kasi so ayan, mini reunion agad pagbalik ng Manila. And since Mela’s heading to the States na to study (Stanford sosh!), despedida na rin for her diva.

Had dinner first at Dencio's Rockwell then headed to Centerstage, Jupiter for our birit to the max night.

Of course, hindi mawawala sa list of songs ko ang Iisa Pa Lamang by Joey Albert. Ahhaha. Lav et! Hassle lang mag videoke trip when Alecz is around. Songbird kasi ang choosy kaya ayan, sobrang halatang halata na di kami magaling sa pagkanta. Kalurkeeee!!! Anyways, we enjoyed Alecz’ concert. Girl or guy song, bugubug talaga kay Inay.

Come Saturday, lunch appointment with Ida and Jeoff @ Century Park Hotel. Lunch buffet ang eksena. Had to discuss din kasi something. Anyways, spontaneous gimik for the night kasi super tagal na since we last went out with Jeoff. Sobrang busy busy kasi ang Becky na ito! Watched “For the First Time” with Ida (wait for the review, ohmygosh.....refund please!) while badminton galore si bakla! Picked up Jego and Dax in Laundryhaus before we headed to Malate to meet up with Jeoff. Kaloka birit night na naman ito. Kalurks! Anyways….sakit na ng throat ko sa walang katapusang pagkanta!

Sunday. I think I got home from Malate around 4 in the morning. Sheth. I had to wake up early pa since I had to hit the gym before going to Isa’s 1^st Birthday Party! Isa is the youngest daughter of my officemate, Val. Grabe, I can’t explain this feeling. Ang pagpunta sa children’s party na walang bitbit na junakis! Anyways..buti may mini cupcakes si Val….i felt love! Hahaha! Happy Birthday, Isa.

WTP 08 Leg 1-- BORACAY

So we had this trip to Galera last June. Alecz, Poma and I had so much fun that we decided to go on vacay mode and travel on a regular basis. Plan WTP 08 (Wow Tour of the Philippines 2008) was born. Venue for Leg 1: Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan. Ate Vi-inspired ang Leg 1 coz we all can’t get over Vilma Santos’s version of “Where’s the Party?” So ayan, nagkaron na ng mas maraming version ang WTP 08! Wow Tour of the Philippines 2008; Where’s The Party for 2008; and Wellness Guru Alecz, Trina and Poma 2008.

Before proceeding to Bora, we had to make a quick stop-over at my Lolo’s hometown,New Washington, Aklan. Overnight muna kami jan. Made pasyal sa Sampaguita Gardens. Nothing spectacular naman, picture picture lang with too much laughing on the side. Buong hapon we were just singing Ate Vi’s “Where’s the Party”. Gosh!! Made Poma and Alecz taste my ultimate favorite in Aklan, the inihaw na tinapay. Super favorite! “But don’t expect too much”. Come night time, we decided to go to the mall only to find out that the mall closes at 7:30pm. Kagrabe!!!! So ayun, went home nalang to play Taboo! Super dooper fun. Major laugh trip!

Woke up early the following day. Our drive to bora started around 5 in the morning. We got there around 6 and super thanks to the Microtel staff for the warm welcome (complete with shell necklaces, cool drinks and minty wet facetowels). Tanning to the max followed as we met up with Mela and our new friend Veron. Come night time, we gulped a couple of beers at Tides with the two girls and their friends (now our new friends) Bogus, Mico and Lenny.

Sunday morning was a bit different. Mejo rainy ng konti. And Poma was having a slight fever. So there. I went to D’Mall to get medicines for Poma and to meet up with the rest of our friends. Plan was to invite them over at Microtel nalang and play taboo since it’s raining and Poma was sick. We had fun! Thanks to Alecz for always being the life of everything! So ayun, our friends had their own plans and Alecz and I had to take care of sick Poma. Separate ways muna kami for the afternoon. I heard mass at 4:30pm. Sheth pagbalik ko 40 na ang temperature ng may sakit!! Heat stroke na yata ito!!! Oh looord, panic galore for me.

Spent the night playing the role of a nurse. Regularly checking his temperature, changing his clothes, putting fresh cold towel on his forehead, mga ganyang ka ekekan. Super nervous ako talaga because I wouldn’t know what to do if hindi bumaba ang fever ni Poma. And hello, ung mga sound effects ni Poma while he was still so delirious was driving me insane!!! Si Alecz kahit concerned, he can’t help but laugh at me while I panic! Super funny though, because Alecz has his own way of easing my panic. Mga mini diversions ba! He’ll make patawa or aawayin nya ako mejo para di ko mashado maisip na may patient kami. Anyways…. At around mga 1 in the morning, naging okay na rin naman sha. Thank God!!!

The last day of Leg 1 was a busy one. Of course, pahabol tanning! By this time, nasa airport na all of our friends kasi before lunch ang mga flights nila. (For Mela and Ate Vi, their 11:20 was cancelled. They were given a 7:45 pm instead. Kaloka diba!) Anyways, since 4:30 pa ang flight namin ni Poma and si Alecz 5pm pa, we still had time to swim and make beach chika! Choosy ka pa! I think we had so much fun that we lost track of time. Ohmy, we arrived at the airport at around 4:15. Photo finish! Stressssss grabe. But nalang we were told na maddelay ang flight namin by 1 hour. Normally, that’s not a good thing. Pero this time, wow, what a relief talaga to hear that kind of news.

In summary, WTP 08 Leg 1 was a huge success! Super dooper fun spending time at the beach and meeting new friends. Truly we found the party!!!

Bongga Bingo!

It started out as a simple Thursday afternoon YM conversation. Poma asked where we’ll spend our scheduled Friday night out. I wasn’t too sure about the answer so I simply said, Fort area. Then there, he said the magic word na.. “BINGO”. Sheth. Para akong nagwala sa office! As in na-excite. I’ve wanted to play bingo but wala ako maisip to invite. Kasi naman diba, mejo weird if you think about it. Imagine nalang, someone texting you, busy ka? Bingo tayo! Hihihi. So anyways, I said yes to Poma’s Bingo invitation. His friend kasi, Rocky, had this Bingo event hosted by PSID class of 2008 in Megamall. So there, I texted everyone (Aleli, Dianne, Francis, Maco and Fatsy) to ditch Fort plans coz we’ll be testing our luck sa Megamall nalang. Good thang talaga they all got excited too!

So okay, okay. Come Friday, super excited na talaga. I was feeling lucky that day. And of course, ang agreement namin ni Poma to share our winnings was reason enough for me to pray so hard na manalo kaming 2!! But the day wasn’t with me. As in. Got stuck sa fire exit. Had to use the stairs at galing ako sa 19^th floor oh and by the way, killer heels pa ha. This girl from the 17^th refused to extend help pa. And to make everything super lovely, muntik kami ma-stuck sa baha ni Poma. Major rain kasi that night. Katakot at kaloka. We don’t even know how we got to Megamall. We simply followed cars with smart-looking drivers. Odiva.

We got there on time! Tamang tama lang for a warm-up game. Kaloka! He was holding 6 cards. Ako naman 4. Pano naman kse, our friends we’re still eating! Anyways…..super fun that night. No one from our group won (boo hoo) pero okay lang coz we had so much fun will all our pagtitili in the world. Laver Bey!!! Hahaha.

Wet and Very Wild in Agno

Yup, as the new Santugon oldies, we were invited to take part in the Alumni Critique scheduled by the Core. The usual drill, Freshmen candidates will show us the RTRs that they have prepared and of course, we’ll tell them what’s okay, what’s not, what to change, what to improve and the list goes on. (The thing is that na….objective dapat, ask Gordalinda).

Anyways, natapos ng maaga because not all colleges were able to present RTRs. So ayun, iniwan na naming si Maco sa Goks Bldg. with the resident goonies (kawawang mga bata! Haha, joke lang Mare). Si Alecz pupunta na sa wedding na kakantahan nya in Intramuris. Gordon will hit the gym daw. As for Poma and I, homebound na because nga early natapos ang critique. So shempre yosi yosi muna sa Agno before mag separate ways. I miss that place! Too bad the guardhouse was sarado. Mejo umaambon na..yan ang eksena. Alecz said we better seek shade dun sa may puno like what manong magtataho did. Korek naman, hindi kami nababasa dun. After a couple of puffs, aba lumalakas ang rain at pati si manong taho ay karipas na sa pag-run. Being the consultative leaders that we are, nagka meeting muna kung anong plan of action ang ittake (may time kasi talaga eh).

Poma: Takbo na kaya tayo hanggang parking lot!

Trina: Oo nga, pareho rin naman eh. Mababasa din naman tayo.

And so all four us started to run. Since I’m the only girl (biologically speaking), shempre nauna sila. Oh shett talaga, I forgot nakaheels ako. And I forgot, hindi ako mahilig tumkbo sa normal na paraan!! (Duh, like what Poma said nga, di nga nya ako maimagine na tumatakbo sa treadmill without my signature head sway). Anyways, ang layo na nila when I realized that. Plus, mejo nasisira na ang sandals ko. I mean, to a limited extent, okay lang for me to run na naka heels. Pero walang wet and nasisirang sandals element sana! Maybe panic ito pero bigla nalang ako nagsisigaw ng “EEEEK HINDI KO PALA KAYA, HINDI KO PALA KAYA!” (while still attempting to run). At wala akong pake na maraming tao sa paligid ko ha! Keps talaga, bakloong bakloo ang dating ko habang naghuhumiyaw. I decided to walk na lang habang palakas ng palakas ang ulan. Good thing, my friends decided to take a stopover sa DLSU Sports Complex. Hayun , from afar kitang kita ko ang pagtawa nila. Hindi pa rin ako tumitigil sa pagtili ng “HINDI KO KAYA!!” I bet the guards were wondering na what happened to this girl na nagpapabasa sa ulan habang nakikipag-usap sa sarili! Shucks, kakahiya sana. Good thing, I love to laugh at myself!

Haaaay. Basang basa. Iyon lang. Oo, trip ko talaga maligo sa ulan. But like what I told Poma, hindi ito counted. Gusto ko yung mageenjoy ako. Yung hindi kayo ang mas nageenjoy! Grabe, na feel ko talaga ang concern nila. Tawang tawa kayo mga lintek!

Anyways, goodluck to Santugon Frosh Candidates! Derecho! At wag magpabasa sa ulan.

Bading Man....

After one drink at Ces, Diale and Dae’s birthday bash, I had to meet up with Alecz for a previously scheduled bonding experience (yez!). We watched Dark Knight then went straight to south area for a couple of drinks and our much-needed heart to heart talk. I had issues to discuss that only Alecz can understand (yes, meh ganon!). Anyways, I was blabbing the night away when this old dude (not so old naman, pero compared to me he’s really old) told alecz ‘we can talk’. As we were really into the conversation and shempre wala kaming planong makipagchikahan sa stranger, Alecz simply told this loner na we’re having a serious conversation. Okay, the dude backed off. A couple of drinks later, this dude who’s super getting scary na at that point tried to harass me/us. He never got anything aside from pang deadma at rejection. Infairness to mother Aleli, talagang ever watchful sha kay kadiri dude (as if trying to see kung may gagawin ba itong mama na ito) while listening to me blab about my current issues. Aba shempre hello, dumadrama pa ako anuva! Kahit naman I was so into this whole telling Alecz what’s bugging me, I was trying hard din to sense kung safe ba kami or hindi. Well anyways, as Alecz would put it, hindi na siguro talaga kinaya ng old dude. He suddenly grabbed me by my shoulder while I was making drama/daldal. I was super shocked. I guess none of us really anticipated that the dude will resort to that kind of behavior. Bigla ako napasabi ng “NOOO” to the guy’s face. But the shocking part was this: as soon as Alecz saw the dude grab me by the shoulder, mejo napatayo si Alecz sa chair nya and while finger pointed at the dude, he told him “hey, you’re not supposed to do that” (in his best man voice ha). Alecz got the bill (nagmamadali at parang pikon na boylet sha habang kinakausap ang waiter) and we left the area.

While in the car, Alecz asked, “mother, ano na feel mo, natakot ka?” Honestly, hindi ako natakot. I was more of nagulat. Nagulat that suddenly, this stranger attempted to touch me. More importantly, nagulat ako na naging lalake bigla itong si Alecz. He explained that it was all instinct; he can’t understand as well why he acted that way. Odiva, may ganong drama.

It was an experience. The harassment part, wala na yun mashado. Looord naman, bakit ko ipagkakalat na may ganong nangyari sa akin diva!! That part where Alecz tried to protect me was most important of all (that’s why I decided to blog about this). I guess it’s like that. At the end of the day, lalake pa rin talaga kahit pa girlaloo bad girl si mother. Angkop na angkop sa MMK-special na topic namin. Touched ako ha, everytime kasi I’m with Alecz, I feel as if pareho kaming girlash. Ako ang klusha magnetica na may super powers at sha ang mudra for all seasons! That night, na feel ko talaga ang pagka girl ko. Kaloka, naging lalake si mother for a couple of minutes, di ko kinaya, breathtaking ang drama nitei!!

Well, Aleli, thank you so much for the eye-openers given and especially for protecting me that night. Kaloka, natakot sayo ang damuhong stranger na ‘yun. Ka touch talaga.

My 25th: two months worth of celebration

28 May 2008:

Happy Birthday to me! But really, no time to celebrate because my Tanduay stockholders’ meeting was scheduled that same afternoon. Of course, had to prepare pa! So I headed to the office right away, (wearing a red dress of course!), since I still had to prepare the materials for the meeting. Middle of the meeting, my thoughts began to wander….hmm…I don’t feel like it’s my birthday. Is it really my bday? Bakit ganito, puro work pa rin! Anyways, after the meeting, Atty. Pesayco (Tanduay Corsec) presented her birthday gift for me—Photo op with Kap!! I didn’t know what to say. I’m a super fan of Dr. Tan so naloka talaga ako with this birthday gift! And let me tell you, he’s really nice. As in chika talaga. I had to say goodbye after a while kse wala na ako masabi and my gosh, super red na ng face ko (match na sa outfit!). With that photo op, grabe, feel ko na ang birthday. Brought my happy feeling with me to good earth with Ida (our Tanduay/Eton/Allied Bank girl), Caron and Grace (officemates) for a couple of birthday rounds. Hihi! Bago pa malasing ng tuluyan si Ida, I headed back to QC because I promised my mother we’ll spend my birthday sa MB (Music Box). Ang nanay ko, addict sa gay comedy bars! Well.. had so much fun. Truly, it was a happy birthday for me!!!

I had to finish my work early that day. I promised my bees we’ll have my belated happy birthday dinner together. So Tammy and Ann picked me up sa office. Met up with Hazel and Ange (escorted by Dennis) at Café Bola in Greenbelt. Had dinner agad kasi ang press release ng mga anak ko, si Nicka nasa meeting pa so after we eat, head back to good earth nalang for a couple of rounds with my busy Nicka. Sa totoo lang, mejo nabbwiset na ako sa mga anak ko dahil ang gugulo ng mga plans nila that night. E kaya naman pala! Surprise party pala ito!! Haha. They invited my lawschool batchmates and other sisses to good earth. And my hijas even gave me flowers..lahat sila ha! Super surprised. I’m the luckiest momsy talaga…as in! I can’t thank my bees enough for the surprise!

I woke up late as usual. Naman, Sunday kasi. Anyways, spent more time in bed as I was determined to finish Amy Tan’s “Saving Fish From Drowning” (take note: ilang months ko na binabasa di ko matapos tapos!). Eto naman si mother biglang sumisigaw: “Baba ka muna, may magcconsult daw”. Grrrr…diba? I haven’t taken a bath yet! How can I face someone with a legal query? Anyhoo, as if I can do anything! Hala, the moment I got out of the room, nakita ko na ang mga loka kong college kabarkada (Dianne, Ida and Elay complete with cake, ballon and happy birthday smiles)! Click away ang mga loka e nakapambahay pa talaga ako, fresh from bed ang lola! Well, nung mejo nagsink in na ang surprise, took a bath and we headed to trinoma for a couple of drinks and to watch Sex and the City. Thank you, my angels! I wasn’t expecting talaga that surprise (e surprise nga!)

Ruby’s Homecoming Party. Ayan umuwi galling sa States ang lukaret. Shempre welcome back ang drama ng Santugon. Kain at inom sa Kroc in Greenbelt. We stayed inside the resto kasi eh so I had to go out pa with Poma for a couple of puffs. When we came back ang Maco at Alecz nagbubulungan na. At bigla nalang akong nakarinig ng sigaw sa right ear ko “OOOYYY!!!” (galing ito sa waiter) at nasundan ito ng happy birthday song (galing naman ito sa mga kabarkada ng waiter). And they gave me birthday ice cream na may birthday candle. O diva, alam ko pinagloloko lang ako ng mga vehykla sa Santugon….pasalamat kayo at kakatapos lang talaga ng birthday ko kaya mejo natuwa na rin ako!

Eto OA na talaga ang birthday celebration na ito (Hai at the Fort). Haha. Joint shebang with Marge (bday: July 13) kaya ang title ng party ay Never too late, never too early. But really, mejo obvious it was just an excuse to throw a party! Haha. Well, had so much fun! Invited the sisses and of course dahil Santugon din itong si Margarita, anjan ang ibang mga goonies. Thanks to those who came and made the joint shebang a fun fun party.
