Frustrated Mom

I was busy drafting a petition. My mind was supposedly focused on annulment of marriage tralala. Then out of nowhere I heard little footsteps followed by a little voice calling out, "Mom? Mom?"

Out of the blue, without even thinking, I simply answered "Yes? I'm Here."

My officemate had to remind me huy si Zack yun ni Val. Hindi sayo yun.

Sigh.
Now I can't focus on work anymore.

WTP 08 Leg 1-- BORACAY

So we had this trip to Galera last June. Alecz, Poma and I had so much fun that we decided to go on vacay mode and travel on a regular basis. Plan WTP 08 (Wow Tour of the Philippines 2008) was born. Venue for Leg 1: Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan. Ate Vi-inspired ang Leg 1 coz we all can’t get over Vilma Santos’s version of “Where’s the Party?” So ayan, nagkaron na ng mas maraming version ang WTP 08! Wow Tour of the Philippines 2008; Where’s The Party for 2008; and Wellness Guru Alecz, Trina and Poma 2008.

Before proceeding to Bora, we had to make a quick stop-over at my Lolo’s hometown,New Washington, Aklan. Overnight muna kami jan. Made pasyal sa Sampaguita Gardens. Nothing spectacular naman, picture picture lang with too much laughing on the side. Buong hapon we were just singing Ate Vi’s “Where’s the Party”. Gosh!! Made Poma and Alecz taste my ultimate favorite in Aklan, the inihaw na tinapay. Super favorite! “But don’t expect too much”. Come night time, we decided to go to the mall only to find out that the mall closes at 7:30pm. Kagrabe!!!! So ayun, went home nalang to play Taboo! Super dooper fun. Major laugh trip!

alecz: o ayan tinikman ko na, masaya ka na?
poma: okay naman ah

the three of us with Timmy and Tammy

Woke up early the following day. Our drive to bora started around 5 in the morning. We got there around 6 and super thanks to the Microtel staff for the warm welcome (complete with shell necklaces, cool drinks and minty wet facetowels). Tanning to the max followed as we met up with Mela and our new friend Veron. Come night time, we gulped a couple of beers at Tides with the two girls and their friends (now our new friends) Bogus, Mico and Lenny.

Poma and Alecz

Sunday morning was a bit different. Mejo rainy ng konti. And Poma was having a slight fever. So there. I went to D’Mall to get medicines for Poma and to meet up with the rest of our friends. Plan was to invite them over at Microtel nalang and play taboo since it’s raining and Poma was sick. We had fun! Thanks to Alecz for always being the life of everything! So ayun, our friends had their own plans and Alecz and I had to take care of sick Poma. Separate ways muna kami for the afternoon. I heard mass at 4:30pm. Sheth pagbalik ko 40 na ang temperature ng may sakit!! Heat stroke na yata ito!!! Oh looord, panic galore for me.

Taboo match

Spent the night playing the role of a nurse. Regularly checking his temperature, changing his clothes, putting fresh cold towel on his forehead, mga ganyang ka ekekan. Super nervous ako talaga because I wouldn’t know what to do if hindi bumaba ang fever ni Poma. And hello, ung mga sound effects ni Poma while he was still so delirious was driving me insane!!! Si Alecz kahit concerned, he can’t help but laugh at me while I panic! Super funny though, because Alecz has his own way of easing my panic. Mga mini diversions ba! He’ll make patawa or aawayin nya ako mejo para di ko mashado maisip na may patient kami. Anyways…. At around mga 1 in the morning, naging okay na rin naman sha. Thank God!!!

Nars Trina

The last day of Leg 1 was a busy one. Of course, pahabol tanning! By this time, nasa airport na all of our friends kasi before lunch ang mga flights nila. (For Mela and Ate Vi, their 11:20 was cancelled. They were given a 7:45 pm instead. Kaloka diba!) Anyways, since 4:30 pa ang flight namin ni Poma and si Alecz 5pm pa, we still had time to swim and make beach chika! Choosy ka pa! I think we had so much fun that we lost track of time. Ohmy, we arrived at the airport at around 4:15. Photo finish! Stressssss grabe. But nalang we were told na maddelay ang flight namin by 1 hour. Normally, that’s not a good thing. Pero this time, wow, what a relief talaga to hear that kind of news.

can't wait for Leg 2

In summary, WTP 08 Leg 1 was a huge success! Super dooper fun spending time at the beach and meeting new friends. Truly we found the party!!!

Watch out for Leg 2 of WTP 08!!

Please Don't Stop The Music -- on banning barops

Backtrack a bit:

Just graduated from Law School. Spent a few months studying and trying to cram everything up inside my head. I started panicking a week before the first Sunday, i think. It wasn't such a good season for me. Was trying to deal with missed lessons, stress, lazy crazy attacks, etc. Truth is, because so much has happened, I don't even want to remember my bar season. Haha. I must admit though na always ako excited for the bar weekends. I'll be with my sisses and I'll plan what to wear for Sunday ekek. Haha. And of course, being the pa-star that I am, super love ko walking to DLSU with a panicky irita face tapos all the people are looking pa at you. hahaha. Loves it superr! Fun eh, i mean it adds color to the craziness of bar season. May mga tents jan sa tabi tabi, drums boom boom shebang, people screaming, cheering and everything. Maingay. Heavy Traffic. Magulo. Masaya. Super saya. Kaloka.

Now:

read this article.

Manila bans ‘bar ops’ for 2008 bar takers

Barops banned. Permits for barops organizers will no longer be issued. How unfair is that?! I was just having a YM conversation with Trinagar and super kami galit with this news. I mean, okay fine, really this thing causes bad traffic but it also boosts morale of the barristers and of course, big help sha sa mga barristers lalo na those from the province who can't afford to get a place of their own (for HQ purposes). Diba nga, they set up their own tents dun tapos they eat and cram na lang there. Inis talaga. Oo na bad traffic. I don't know ha, pero kasi for me and Trinagar, Barops is a tradition...especially the salubong part. So super hard to accept and imagine na banned na ang lahat ng yan. Tradition banned. For me, it's synonymous to saying wala nang procession, fiesta, christmas shopping, flores de mayo, etc. cause heavy traffic ang effect! HMP!!!!

I feel bad for my sisses who will be taking the bar this September. No drums boom boom shebang atmosphere coupled with stages, trucks and tents.

Tahimik. Walang bad traffic. Maayos. Nakakainis. Irita.

will be missed

One Quick Vacay

I found it unacceptable to simply stay home for the weekend. Hello!? Long weekend ito at birthday pa ni Madonna. Ano ba! Hence, after a quick stop over at Ange and Rish’s party in Greenhills, Noel, Pat and I headed to Tagaytay to meet up with Tingting. Madonna soundtrack the entire trip! When we got to Tingting’s house, Madonna concert mood and then we went to get foot and back massages @ TonTon. Pano naman, Pat’s back was punishing her daw. So shempre join na rin kami. After the massage (which lasted for 1.5hours) Bulalo time na!! Naknanghooch, super dooper lamiiiig!!! Di ko kinaya talaga ang ginaw!! Well, chika chika of course. With Ting and Noel pa naman, you’ll learn lotsa stuff about lotsa things. Az in. Madonna concert ulit when we got home then we all went to bed na because we still had to follow a schedule for the following day.

concert mood

We woke up earlier than expected. Haha. Went to Buon Giorno at the Cliffhouse to have breakfast! Major hungry!!! Haha. Buti nalang sarap their food. Well, nothing spectacular naman but I've nothing bad to say about it rin. Too bad lang no tv there, Pat was not able to watch Phelps grab his 8th gold. Trust me, I don’t know anything about that bit. Thanks to Pat and the boys ayan kilala ko na si Phelps. Picture picture after breakfast and then shopping spree for Noel in Sta. Rosa. And we were Manila-bound.

@ Buon Giorno with Ting and Noel

Madonna soundtrack pa rin on the way home. So super zzzzzs talaga for me. Lullabye effect.

That was one heck of a super fun quickie vacay. Super saya. Thanks to Tingting and Noel for this trip. Pat, thanks for waking me up in the most serious way you can. Haha.

Oh, and Happy 50th Birthday, Inay!

Bongga Bingo!

with Dianne

It started out as a simple Thursday afternoon YM conversation. Poma asked where we’ll spend our scheduled Friday night out. I wasn’t too sure about the answer so I simply said, Fort area. Then there, he said the magic word na.. “BINGO”. Sheth. Para akong nagwala sa office! As in na-excite. I’ve wanted to play bingo but wala ako maisip to invite. Kasi naman diba, mejo weird if you think about it. Imagine nalang, someone texting you, busy ka? Bingo tayo! Hihihi. So anyways, I said yes to Poma’s Bingo invitation. His friend kasi, Rocky, had this Bingo event hosted by PSID class of 2008 in Megamall. So there, I texted everyone (Aleli, Dianne, Francis, Maco and Fatsy) to ditch Fort plans coz we’ll be testing our luck sa Megamall nalang. Good thang talaga they all got excited too!

So okay, okay. Come Friday, super excited na talaga. I was feeling lucky that day. And of course, ang agreement namin ni Poma to share our winnings was reason enough for me to pray so hard na manalo kaming 2!! But the day wasn’t with me. As in. Got stuck sa fire exit. Had to use the stairs at galing ako sa 19th floor oh and by the way, killer heels pa ha. This girl from the 17th refused to extend help pa. And to make everything super lovely, muntik kami ma-stuck sa baha ni Poma. Major rain kasi that night. Katakot at kaloka. We don’t even know how we got to Megamall. We simply followed cars with smart-looking drivers. Odiva.

We got there on time! Tamang tama lang for a warm-up game. Kaloka! He was holding 6 cards. Ako naman 4. Pano naman kse, our friends we’re still eating! Anyways…..super fun that night. No one from our group won (boo hoo) pero okay lang coz we had so much fun will all our pagtitili in the world. Laver Bey!!! Hahaha.

We lost!!!

Major thanks to Rocky for the invites!! Let’s make this Bongga Bingo a regular thingaloo! Maybe next time we’ll win na.

Mama's Mini Videoke Party with her own baklush army

Mama is such a sucker for videokes but she just won't admit it. Kung di ka ba naman adik, may regular mini videoke party sha at home for her friends and her gayness club. One of them parties was scheduled yesterday, 14 August 2008 to make salubong din Tita Nida's birthday. Of course, super fun na naman kahit forever we have to beg for her to sing and magpapakipot sha kunwari pero she has this list of numbers ng songs na she wants to perform naman! Betcha by Golly Wow and all Carpenters' songs! Oh, and shempre i have my own videoke song for all seasons! Joey Albert's "Iisa Pa Lamang". Kaya nga mejo irits na isa na itong teleserye ngayon! Dami namang ibang title kasi diva! Anyways, party was super dooper alive, thanks to the Music Box gayness army (Aekaye, Beauty na natalo sa singing bee, Dan Josh, Jeremy, Justine, Matuts, Attack na hindi ko naabutan, Yaya and Krissy) na laging nanjan sa mga mini videoke parties ni mother. Kalurkah talaga parang naging music box ang balay namin. Nakakinis lang kse di ko na natiis...alcohol touched my lips that night!\

Magsitulog na tayo please!
with Mama's army

Until the next one!

bang, baby, bang bang

Last Saturday was my target shooting day! Went to PPSC , Fort Bonifacio with Caron, Mercy and Sherwin. Super pressure for me because I know that all of them were so excited to hear me scream! I’m not really scared of guns. In fact, I enjoy firing pistols (finding it hard to reload though). Ang problem lang, they wanted to see me use an armalite! That is so not girly and I find it too war movie-ish kaya I hesitated a bit. But Arnel, the instructor, insisted that I try the M-16 so ayan, nagpapilit naman ako! First shot, mejo kakagulat because after pulling the trigger, tatamaan ka talaga ng gun sa shoulder if the same was not in its proper position prior to taking the shot. So hayun, until now, I still have bruises caused by the M-16. Seems na okay naman ako with the rifle so according to Kuya Jun (another instructor), full auto na natin ha, try mo. Of course, I asked muna, so ano mangyayari pag naka full-auto na? And he said, “Bale instead na BOOM, magiging BOOM BOOM BOOM”. I said okay kse hello, no problem with that naman. So okay, full auto kung full auto!!! So after all the seremonyas in the target shooting world, I pulled the trigger. And there, I screamed the most baklush scream I can ever!! EEEEEEKKKK EEEEEKKKKK EEEEKKKK. Sabi kasi BOOM BOOM BOOM, yun pala BRATATATATATATATAT!!! Hahaha. Everyone was laughing talaga!! Pati ako natawa na rin with myself (as usual!)

Anyways, I had so much fun. Targeting shooting is therapy to the max. There’s something about it that sets me free in more ways than one. You can only imagine what goes on inside my head right before I pull the trigger. Sabi nga ng instructor, okay ako mag shoot ng target, as in 3 bullets in one hole, kaya! Ang reklamo lang ng instructor sa akin, wala akong ka safety-safety sa katawan, basta mapatay/matamaan lang ang target bahala na! Well, kawawa ang target sa akin. Lahat ng tama nya puro sa head and heart area. Tsk!

That target shooting day freed me from something.

Before we left, I asked for one last date with the pistol and 5 more bullets.

Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang.

1 to the head. 4 straight to the heart. With just one name and one thought inside my head…….

Impulse Shopping

It was target shooting day for me last Saturday (I will blog about this, really. Just waiting for some of the photos from Mercy). I was on my way home around 6:30 pm, and I realized it was still a bit early so I decided to stop by Trinoma.

Window shop. Window shop. walk walk. Window shop.

I couldn't take it any longer. I know I promised myself I'll cut down on shopping..but shucks, I had to buy something or I'll faint.

Hence, I bought myself side-swept bangs from Menage.

tadaaaa!

Little steps away from addictions

Monica texted me yesterday, asking when we can go out to catch up. I didn’t give a definite answer because I still had to check my schedule. So before going to bed, I tried to picture my calendar in my head. Hmmm….and then there, I realized! It’s been a while since I went out on a gimik night! Kabloom, really, as in zero alcohol consumption for more than 2 weeks now. My last encounter with alcohol (and trust me, just one bottle of beer I didn’t even finish) was during Ange’s birthday surprise. Super shocked with this realization. Kabaliw!!

But here’s the mas grabe part: a pack of my yosi now lasts 2-3 days! Before, half day lang ang buhay ng one pack of Winston Lights sa akin!

I love it, I love it, I love it!

The cutest part about this is I never really put much effort into this. I just noticed na ganito na pala and kaya naman pala!!

Tsk tsk tsk, rehab ain’t for me talaga! Nothing about it is. (yessss meh ganon pa rin!)

*wink* *wink*

A Very Special Love

The truth is I’m a sucker when it comes to Pinoy flicks. As in, Kilabot ng Pelikulang Pilipino (KPP) talaga. There’s something about Pinoy films that draws me to it. Definitely not the story line kasi halos lahat ng Pinoy films medyo predictable kung ano mangyayari (lalo na pag love story). Mabibilang ko lang ang mga Pinoy films na I really liked the story line. But anyways, most of our actors act really well naman kaya okay na rin to some extent. In watching Pinoy flicks, I always watch out for the lines and quotable quotes ng actors. Yung iba kse powerful talaga, as in kaloka. Whenever a great line is used in a movie I always tell myself, “shettt bakit hindi ikaw ang nakaisip/nagsulat nyan?!” haha, frustrated writer ang eksena!

Anyways, I watched A Very Special Love (starring John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo) in Trinoma a couple of days ago with my sisters. Being the KPP that I am, I really planned on watching this movie. Yun nga lang, napaaga ang panonood ko because of Ruby (na ohmygosh, isang umaga sa YM puro John Lloyd John Lloyd ang drama) and Alecz (na kwento ng kwento how much he enjoyed watching the film).

photo from http://starcinema.multiply.com

Like what I said earlier, mejo predictable. The usual boy meets girl, awkward moments, hurdles to face, and then tadaaaa they’ll end up din naman in each others’ arms. Ganun ang eksena. Ang mga lines okay naman. Here are some of the lines from the movie:

“I never asked you to love me “ (I’m not too sure about this one, basta to this effect)

“Kahit minsan hindi ko naramdamang nakakapagod kang mahalin…Ngayon lang.”

“Because there’s so much pain in your heart, kaya hindi mo mararamdamang mahal kita.”

Infairness, I like talaga the way John Lloyd acts. Di ko sha crush ha, I don’t get crushes (and besides, John Lloyd reminds me of an ex kasi eh). Basta drama kung drama, meh ganon! Sarah naman super funny. I never expected acting from her, and yupyup, she proved me wrong. Ang pinaka kaloka sa movie ay hiyawan ng mga tao inside the theater. Grabe talaga, nakakaaliw. Everytime a kilig scene comes up, ang ingay talaga sa loob ng theater. Haha. I was laughing all throughout the movie because most of the scenes were really kakatawa (ah hello, romantic comedy nga eh), and shempre natatawa ako sa kilig moments. I’m not a kiligin person kasi eh, just wasn’t born that way. So pag may mga scenes na parang kinilig ako ng konting konti lang (haha), natatawa talaga ako. Yung parang shettt bakit ako kinilig dun. Haha, ganon.

Basta bottomline, maganda sha. Kaaliw. Katuwa. Super light feeling afterwards. Until now I still laugh everytime I remember some of the scenes/lines.

Loves it!!! Go watch!

The world is full of weirdos!

For days now I've been getting calls from this unknown number. It's not really my thing to answer calls from strangers, but wala eh, i found it weird na that this number keeps on calling. So one time nung may missed call na naman si stranger, I tried to return the call (thinking it was work-related). Tama ba naman na sigawan ako ng boylet ng "sino to?!?!" I tried to hold my temper (gosh ang hirap nun) and calmly said "uhm, i got a call from your number. I called because i thought this is work-related". And a girl suddenly grabbed the phone from the guy..at ang sabi sa akin ni girl "Wag kang malandi ha, umayos ka!" Of course I hung up. Obviously wrong number.

At nagtext pa ha.... "Bakit ka tumatawag sa asawa ko?!"

Aynaku, kagalit! Pwede ba..ikadena at ikulong n'yo nalang ang mga asawa nyo! And stop bothering me!

I don't go for married men!

grrrr!

My Pair of Rubber (yes, rubber) Shoes

Since I promised myself I will take this gym tralala seriously, I needed to get myself a pair of rubber shoes. When I first thought about it, I got kind of depressed. My gosh, say goodbye na talaga to my “no rubber shoes in the shoe rack” policy ang eksena. More importantly, the idea of me buying shoes without heels scared the crappioly out of me. Uhm, wala kasi akong alam sa rubber shoes. Pare-pareho lang sila! So anyways, I texted Patbau right away because she’s an expert when it comes to rubber shoes. At inisip ko talaga pano ko sasabihin sakanya kasi I know she take me seriously pag bigla ko lang sinabi na Pat, come with me, I’ll buy rubber shoes. So…

Trina: Pat, I need your help on something. I have to buy a thing kasi and ikaw yung expert.

Pat: Ha? Ano ba bibilin mo? C _ _ _ O _?

Trina: Duh, ano ka ba! I need to buy kse rubber shoes. Please go with me.

Pat: Ohmygod, serious?? Para kanino??

Trina: Anuva, for me!

Pat: Okay, I’m fainting now. Para saan??

See!!! No one will believe talaga pag sinabi ko na bibili ako ng rubber shoes! So diba mas mahirap to imagine na isusuot ko pa ang rubber shoes!!!! So after like 2 days, I met up with Pat in Rockwell to buy na nga the rubber shoes. Shettt. Infairness, nakakatawa ang conversation namin. I can sense talaga na napipikon na si Pat sa kakulitan ko. Pat, may mga guidelines tayo sa pagbili ng rubber shoes.

No. 1, Ayoko ng Adidas.

No. 2, I have a budget ha. To which pat replied, hoy mahal ang rubber shoes noh! Ah, alam ko yun pero hanggang 3k lang ako. Heels siguro gagastusan ko, pero rubber shoes??? Nyiiiii. Hanggang 3k lang yan, day!

Lastly and more importantly..may color requirement ako…dapat may gold ang rubber shoes!

At naloka na si Pat.

Anyways, we found the shoes in Powerplant. Biased si Pat sa Reebok so that’s what I got! Haha. But infairness, yun na nga ung pinaka type ko sa lahat ng nakita namin. How that happened, I don’t know. E diba like what I said, pare-pareho lang lahat ng rubber shoes sakin. Colors lang ang iba.

So thank you so much, Patbau!!! Yehey, may rubber shoes na ako.

P. S.

Trina: Pat, crash course naman jan sa rubber shoes. I mean, what should I get for this, for that. What’s the diff between ganitong rubber shoes and ganyan.

Pat: text mo nalang ako pag bibili ka ulit ng rubber shoes, please?
